Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa

Situated on a 19 acre parcel of land overlooking the Eagle River, the Westin is the threshold for a new pedestrian path and gondola that unites town, river, and mountain.

With a mixture of guestrooms, time shares, meeting space, and a 23,000-square-foot-spa, the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa was the first hotel in the state of Colorado to achieve LEED Silver certification. The Riverfront Express Gondola, with its base terminus adjacent to the resort, takes skiers to nearby Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch in three minutes. The architecture of the Westin responds to the context and ambiance of both the existing town of Avon and the adjacent resort of Beaver Creek. Beaver Creek architecture makes use of traditional American alpine building materials and forms, while Avon has a more contemporary and commercial feel. Hornberger + Worstell’s design team synthesized an architecture derivative of both settings. The architecture of the Westin is transitional--bringing together town, river and mountain.
