The Olympic Club

Founded in 1860, the Olympic Club is the oldest operating athletic club in the Western United States and serves more than 5,000 members.

Hornberger + Worstell provided complete programming and architectural services for the rehabilitation and expansion of San Francisco’s historic Olympic Club. The project was implemented in two phases, with the construction of a new 110,000-square-foot addition followed by the rehabilitation of the historic 1911 building.
The new 10-story building on Sutter Street is connected directly to the historic main building. The Sutter building greatly expands athletic facility offerings by adding a new competitive aquatics natatorium, basketball courts and a sky gymnasium, women's locker/member facilities, food venues, a club store, club central services and five levels of parking.
