The Olympic Club

Hornberger + Worstell provided complete programming and architectural services for the rehabilitation and expansion of San Francisco’s historic Olympic Club.

Founded in 1860, the Olympic Club is the oldest operating athletic club in the Western United States and serves more than 5,000 members. The project was implemented in two phases, with the construction of a new 110,000-square-foot addition followed by the rehabilitation of the historic 1911 building.

The new 10-story building on Sutter Street is connected directly to the historic main building. The Sutter building greatly expands athletic facility offerings by adding a new competitive aquatics natatorium, basketball courts and a sky gymnasium, women's locker/member facilities, food venues, a club store, club central services and five levels of parking.
